Question Description
For this discussion board, you will be responsible for making two posts.
Initial Response: Create and write about a scenario that will allow you to build a mini-ERD consisting of three connected entities. The scenario you create should be at least 25 words and have at least two business rules. Using StarUML, build your ERD including all entities, attributes, identifiers, relationships, and keys. Every entity and attribute must be prefixed with “<your initials>_”. For example, Joe Brown would prefix all of his entities and attributes with “jb_” (not including the quotes) as shown in his Assignment Submission Database. Failure to do this will result in a substantial grade penalty and/or suspicion of academic dishonesty. A sample ERD is listed below.(attached)
Then, explain why you designed the ERD in the way that you did, in a minimum of 50 words. Include any assumptions you made.
Response to a Fellow Classmate: Based on the initial response of one other classmate, write a substantive response, in your own words, of at least 50 words that evaluates and provides constructive criticism on the initial scenario and resulting design. Your response should not solely be a “Good job” type statement that describes how well someone did or how much you learned. Instead, it should be a critical analysis of the design that includes both positive and constructive feedback with justification.
In both cases, your posts must demonstrate an understanding of the question using terminology that you have learned. In other words, your response should prove you have read the material, rather than providing a general opinion or general information.
Initial Response Due – 2/11, 11:59pm
One Substantive Responses to Someone Else’s Initial Response – 2/14, 11:59pm
Grading Rubric:

Initial Response ERD: 30 points
Response to a Fellow Classmate: 40 points
