Question Description
Think of a television commercial or ad campaign that you believe unreasonably overstates what a product or service can do, then answer each of the following questions (be sure to number your responses to align with the question numbers):
- Describe the product and the commercial or ad campaign.
- Do you think the advertiser is actually being deceptive in its claims? Or is it just an accepted and commonplace form of puffery, kind of like “fudging” just a bit on a resume? Relate this to the ethics we discussed previously in class.
- In either event, did the ad or ad campaign change at all what you think or feel about the brand? Why or why not?
