Today, we no longer have to go find a book to answer our questions, pull out a map to find our way, or grab a newspaper to find out what happened overnight. We use our smartphones and computers to seek answers to our questions, find our way around town, and read the news. We’ve learned how to ask good questions and validate what we read.
Think now about the classroom today. What do you think is a teacher’s role in developing students’ understanding of the digital world? Are teachers today responsible for teaching students to be good digital citizens and how to use technology to learn and show evidence of learning? What experiences should teachers be providing to ensure students can be successful in today’s world?
Develop a thoughtful response to these questions.
